QR codes made here are “static”: the content is inside the code, it doesn't go through any server and never expires. Before printing, try scanning it with your phone.

How to use it

A QR code on a business card, menu, flyer or shop window takes people to your profile, website, WhatsApp chat or Wi-Fi network with one scan. Many sites make “dynamic” codes that go through their servers and stop working when the free trial ends. Here the code is “static”: the content is written inside the code, it works forever and doesn't depend on us. Choose colours, shape and logo, check that it scans and download it as PNG or as SVG for print.

  1. Choose what the code should open and fill in the fields.
  2. Choose colours, shape, logo and caption: the preview checks by itself that the code scans.
  3. Download the PNG for social media or the SVG for print, and test it with your phone.

FAQ

Does the QR code expire?

No. The content (the link, the Wi-Fi network, the number…) is written inside the code itself and doesn't go through any server: it works as long as what it points to exists. If you change the link, though, you'll need a new code.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. When you add a logo the code automatically uses the highest error correction, so it stays readable even with the centre covered. The automatic check then tells you whether it scans.

Which colours can I use?

The code must be darker than the background, with good contrast: many phones can't read light codes on a dark background. The preview warns you if the chosen colours are a problem.

PNG or SVG?

PNG is fine for social media, websites and messages. SVG is a vector drawing that can be enlarged without losing quality: it's the one to give the printer for menus, flyers and posters.

How does the Wi-Fi QR code work?

Whoever scans it with their phone camera joins the network without typing the password. It works on recent iPhones and Android phones. The name and password stay in the code: they aren't sent to anyone.
