Extract audio from a video
The voice or music of your videos, in an MP3 file.
Your video stays on your device: nothing is uploadedThis video has several audio tracks: in iPhone screen recordings, one is usually the sound and the other the microphone.
MP3 opens anywhere. “Original” copies the video's exact audio, with no quality loss and in an instant. WAV is uncompressed, for editing.
Your audio is ready
To use the audio of someone else's video (music, films) you need permission from whoever made it. This tool is meant for your own videos.
How to use it
Sometimes you only need a video's audio: a voice note to listen to again, a podcast recorded on your phone, the soundtrack for another edit. Here you choose the video, the part you want (or all of it) and the format: MP3 to open it anywhere, “Original” to copy the exact audio without losing quality, WAV for editing programs. Everything happens in your browser.
- Choose your video: it stays on your device.
- Choose the format and, if you like, just part of the video.
- Press “Extract the audio”, listen to it and download it.
FAQ
Is my video uploaded to a server?
No. The audio is read and saved by your browser. Nothing leaves your device.
Which format should I choose?
MP3 if you want a file that opens anywhere (192 kbit/s is excellent quality). “Original” copies the video's audio as it is: no loss and almost instant, usually as M4A. WAV if you're going to edit it: it's uncompressed and heavier.
Does it work with iPhone screen recordings?
Yes. When the video has several audio tracks (the sound and the microphone) you can choose which one to save.
Can I save just a part?
Yes: use the sliders, or “Start here” and “End here” while watching the video, to choose the start and the end.
Can I use the audio of any video?
Technically yes, but other people's music and videos are protected by copyright: you need permission from whoever made them. The tool is meant for your own videos.
