Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The image is processed by your browser, on your device. It never goes through a server and we never see it.
What size should an Instagram story be?
1080 × 1920 pixels, a 9:16 ratio. Keep text and faces away from the very top and bottom, which are covered by your name and the reply bar.
What does “blurred background” do?
The whole photo is shown without cropping, and the empty space around it is filled with a blurred copy of the same photo. Handy for putting a landscape photo into a vertical story.
