Split a photo for your Instagram grid

One photo split into several posts for a seamless profile grid, or into a panoramic carousel.

Each post comes out at 1080 × 1350 (4:5). Your Instagram profile only shows the central 3:4 part, so each post's edges continue into its neighbor and the grid looks seamless.

Instagram's profile grid has shown posts in 3:4 since 2025. If Instagram changes the format again, the edges may no longer line up.

How to use it

Splitting a photo across several posts makes a striking profile, but since 2025 Instagram shows the grid in 3:4 and older splitters leave gaps between posts. This tool works out the hidden edges of each post, so the image lines up both in the grid and when someone opens a single post.

  1. Pick your photo and choose a profile grid or a carousel.
  2. Set the number of rows or slides and drag to reposition.
  3. Download all files as a .zip and post them following the numbers, starting from no. 1.

FAQ

In what order do I post the grid?

From no. 1 up. Instagram puts the newest post top left, so no. 1 is the bottom-right one. The numbers are already in the file names.

Why is each post 4:5 if the grid is 3:4?

Because a single post opens in 4:5. The extra edges hold the part of the photo that continues into the next post, so the image doesn't break.

Can I use it for a carousel instead of the grid?

Yes: choose “Carousel”, set 2 to 10 slides and upload them in the same post in the order shown.
