Everything stays on your devicePost numbers
The starting numbers are an example: replace them with your post's. You'll find them in the insights below the post.
Engagement rate
Formula: (likes + comments + saves + shares) ÷ followers × 100. Bands are approximate: small accounts usually have higher rates than large ones.
How to use it
Likes alone say little: 200 likes is a lot with 2,000 followers and not much with 50,000. Engagement rate compares interactions to followers, so you can compare your posts over time and see which ones really work.
- Open the post's insights on Instagram.
- Enter followers, likes, comments, saves and shares.
- Read the rate and the verdict. Add accounts reached to also see engagement on reach.
FAQ
What's a good engagement rate?
Roughly, 1% to 3% is average, above 3% is good and above 6% is excellent. Small accounts usually have higher rates.
Why count saves and shares?
They show stronger interest than a like, and Instagram weighs them heavily when deciding to show a post to more people.
What changes when I use accounts reached?
It measures how engaging the post was for people who actually saw it, not all your followers. It's more useful for Reels, which also reach non-followers.
