How to use it

A Reel cover or a YouTube thumbnail needs a sharp image of the right moment. A phone screenshot often gives a blurry frame with the player controls on top. Here you move through the video frame by frame, choose the format, add a title if you like and save the image at the video's full resolution. You can also collect several frames and download them all at once.

  1. Choose your video: it stays on your device.
  2. Find the right moment with the bar and the frame buttons; pick the format and, if you like, type a title.
  3. Press “Download this frame”, or add several frames to the collection and download them in the ZIP.

FAQ

Is my video uploaded to a server?

No. The video is read by your browser and the frames are saved straight to your device.

What quality are the images?

The same as the video: with “Original” the image has the exact size of the video. For a 9:16 cover from a horizontal video the central part is used, and you can move it by dragging.

Which videos can I use?

Any your browser can play: usually MP4, iPhone MOV and WebM. If a video won't open, your browser doesn't know its format: try another browser or re-export the video as MP4.

Can I use it as an Instagram or TikTok cover?

Yes: choose 9:16, save the image and upload it as the cover when you post the Reel or TikTok. For YouTube choose 16:9: it's saved at 1280 × 720, the recommended thumbnail size.
